- Laser cladding of 12%Cr-Ni alloy powder on SS316L steel utilizing diode laser system
- Tailoring of beam intensity profile and pre-heating setups were used
- Appropriate control of dilution in clad could realize in obtaining crack-free coating
- The process has been optimized for producing up to 3 mm thick coating
- An average hardness of 500 - 550 HV achieved
- Refined uniform distribution of borides and carbides in γ-Ni matrix
- testing for anti-galling property evaluation of the optimized coatings is under progress
