Biography

Papiya Biswas completed her B.Tech in Ceramic Technology from West Bengal University of Technology in 2006. She joined ARCI in the same year as a scientist. She did her PhD from NIT Warangal in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department in the year 2018. She has vast work experience in the field of ceramics, specially transparent ceramics, chemical vapour deposition, hot isostatic pressing, low expansion glass ceramics, solid oxide fuel cell,  advanced ceramic processing and its characterization, 3D printing.  She has published more than 50 technical papers in peer reviewed national and international reputed journals and has 2 Indian patents in her credit. She has also contributed in 4 book chapters. She received IRMA Award from Indian Refractory Makers Association for proficiency in studies in ceramic sciences for the year of 2005-2006, Technology Award 2012 from ARCI for the successful development of ZnS domes and Young Scientist award - 2016 from Indian Ceramic Society for her outstanding contribution in the field of advanced ceramics. She is a member of both American Ceramic Society and Indian Ceramic Society. She along with team has transferred several technologies.
