Biography
Dr. Kaliyan Hembram is working as a Scientist-F Centre for Advanced Materials and Batteries, ARCI, Hyderabad. He has more than 22 years of R&D experience. He obtained his PhD in Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Mumbai. He did his B.Tech in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, Rajasthan.
He has published more than 20 scientific papers in reputed national and international journals and holds 5 Indian patents (3 granted) to his credit. He has more than 640 citations with an H index of 11. He has guided more than 20 MTech and B.Tech theses. He is guiding PhD thesis and reviewer of PhD thesis for various universities. He was convener for many conferences and workshops. He is a reviewer of more than 15 international and national journals (American Chemical Society, IOP, Elsevier, Springer and Willy). He is Life member of Indian Institute of Metal, India, life member of Material Research Society of India, Life member of Powder Metallurgy Society of India, India, Life member of Indian Ceramic Society, India, Member of American Ceramic Society, USA and Member of Material Research Society, USA. He has been inducted to Associate Fellow of the Telangana Academy of Sciences (2024).
He has successfully completed many national mission and sponsored research projects as PI and Co-PIs. Dr. Kaliyan and his group have developed self-disinfection CuO-Ag nanoparticle coated masks using and distributed to many institutes and hospitals and schools during COVID-19 pandemic. He and his team are responsible for transfer LiFePO4 cathode materials for Li-Ion battery technology to many industries recently.
His research interest include: Biodegradable metals and alloys implants; Additive manufacturing ZnO Varistor; Nanopowders synthesis for different applications (Biomedical and Li-ion Battery); Synthesis-structure-property correlations in materials.
