Biography
Dr. M. Nagini is a Scientist-E at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, specializing in advanced high-temperature materials and nanoscale characterization. Her research focuses on oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steels, ODS-high-entropy alloys, and Fe₃Al intermetallics, with particular emphasis on mechanical alloying, high-temperature oxidation, and nanostructured materials. She has strong expertise in advanced characterization techniques, including atom probe tomography (APT) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), enabling atomic-scale understanding of structure-property relationships.
She completed her Ph.D. in Materials Engineering through a collaborative program between the University of Hyderabad and the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials, where she investigated the influence of mechanical milling on the microstructural evolution and properties of nano oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) ferritic steels. She has held key research positions at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, including serving as Research Manager at the National Facility for Atom Probe Tomography, IIT Madras and as a Senior Scientist at SATHI-CISCoM, IIT Hyderabad. Her work spans alloy design, processing, microstructural characterization, corrosion studies, and the high-temperature performance of advanced materials.
Dr. Nagini has published over 34 peer-reviewed articles with significant citations (h-index 15), contributing to the development of next-generation structural materials. She has also played an active role in mentoring students, organizing national workshops, and strengthening advanced materials research infrastructure in India.
