- Presently the Head, Centre for Engineered Coatings, brings diverse experience of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science to contribute towards Technology Development, Coating Solutions for diverse applications demonstrating from Lab to Industry.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge in the broad areas of surface engineering of functional coatings/materials used in diverse applications ranging from gas turbines to energy management systems, etc. Particularly, specific focus includes development of coatings for wear & corrosion resistance, thermal barrier, photocatalysis, electrode materials, etc
- Successful demonstration of surface engineering techniques like Solution Precursor Plasma spraying (SPPS), Axial Suspension Plasma spraying (ASPS), Activated Combustion-High velocity Air-Fuel (HVAF) spraying, Detonation spraying (D-gun), Cold gas dynamic spraying for industrial adaptation to provide functional coatings and refurbishment requirements
