Biography
I am A. R. Srinivas, Technical Officer–C at ARCI (International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials), with over 29 years of experience in electrical systems operation, maintenance, and infrastructure support.
Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in the supervision, operation, and maintenance of high- and low-voltage electrical systems, including 33/11 kV and 11/0.415 kV substations. My role focuses on ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply to support critical R&D activities, along with maintaining the overall efficiency and safety of electrical infrastructure.
I oversee Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for substations and pump house systems, ensuring continuous supply of both drinking and industrial water across the facility. I am also responsible for coordinating electrical works in workshop environments, managing technical teams, and addressing shop-floor issues with a practical and timely approach.
My experience includes involvement in tender preparation, technical and commercial evaluation, and execution of electrical projects, including design, estimation, installation, and commissioning of new systems. I have also handled procurement activities and supervised manpower for electrical works under rate contracts.
I had the opportunity to undergo specialized training in Japan on electrical wiring and assembly of Lab–NPLP equipment for sintered magnet manufacturing, following which I successfully installed and commissioned the system at ARCI.
With a strong focus on preventive maintenance, system reliability, and efficient operations, I continue to contribute to the smooth functioning of electrical infrastructure supporting advanced research activities.
