Biography
Joydip Joardar has about thirty years of research experience in the field of powder metallurgy, nanomaterials, and material characterization by x-ray diffraction. He graduated in Metallurgical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College (presently, National Institute of Technology), Durgapur, and subsequently did his Master’s and doctoral studies in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from IIT-Kharagpur. He did postdoctoral research on Ceramics-Metal Matrix Composites at Seoul National University, South Korea, and also worked on defects in iron aluminide intermetallics at Ecole des Mines/CNRS, France, before joining ARCI. Currently, he is a senior scientist (Scientist-G) and Head of the Centre for Advanced Powder Metallurgy (CAPM). He is a Life Member and Governing Council Member of Powder Metallurgy Association of India (PMAI). He is also a Life Member of several other professional bodies like Indian Institute of Metals, Materials Research Society of India, Tribology Society of India and Indian Crystallographic Association.
